President’s Comments a.k.a. The Woodchuck
The woodchuck is back , bad ankle and all. It was good to see another good turnout of club members. That’s what it’s all about getting together and learning new techniques.
Mark St Leger put on a great demonstration and work shop. I know I always learn new things from the pro’s. I think I will be trying some thread chasing now that I see how it’s done. Besides a little screw would be a challenge.
Now that we all know about boxes, the challenge for April will be boxes of your choice. The box that is picked best by the members will receive five raffle tickets and 2nd and 3rd one each. I will have voting slips available.
A little bit about our meeting place. Mr. McFarland is gracious enough to let us meet in his shop, so I encourage everyone to be respectful of his equipment. This means please don’t set anything on the machines that would damage them. These are things like coffee cups and soda cans.
A new feature of the club will be an individual picked to turn an item for raffle. The winner will be the next person to turn for the raffle. Tim Gregory has graciously threw his name in the hat to start the ball rolling.
Another feature will be a person selected from the show and tell to be picked by the board members to be written up in the newsletter.
Let’s keep the turning’s coming. Don’t be afraid to show something, we are all here to learn and help our fellow turners.
